Brian Janss
Brian was born and raised in Dallas and obtained his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin in 2018. He joined SHM Architects in early 2022 and has quickly become a valuable collaborator. Brian’s background brings experience in hospitality and commercial multi-family projects.
For him, architecture is about creative problem-solving, which makes for interesting and inspiring work. He embraces the unique problems that arise in residential projects and uses the opportunity to discover beautiful solutions that meet the client’s desires. Brian believes narrative is an important part of the design process because how we describe ourselves and how we want to live influences the home atmosphere.
Brian’s coworkers, friends, and family describe him as a good listener – at work and at home. He enjoys volunteering at Habitat for Humanity, reading, and trying new restaurants.
