Clayborne Stocker is devout Christian, husband, and Dallas native whose unique homeschooling experience fostered a love for reading, drawing, museum visits, and adventures. His father, David Stocker, played a pivotal role in shaping his interests by taking him on architectural site visits and engaging him in theological and philosophical discussions. This early exposure to design and craftsmanship led Clayborne to pursue a degree in architecture from Mississippi State University.
After graduation, Clayborne joined The Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems (CMPBS) in Austin, Texas, where he worked under Pliny Fisk. There, he researched and developed rapid assembly building systems using innovative biomaterials like carbonized bread. This role enhanced his understanding of life cycle systems and inspired his holistic approach to designing healthy buildings.
Clayborne then accepted a position at SHM Architects, where he works as a design assistant under his father. At SHM, he pushes the boundaries of architectural visualization and keeps abreast of the latest technologies, including AI (Artificial Intelligence). He is working towards licensure and is committed to personal and professional growth within the firm.
Outside of his architectural work, Clayborne is an accomplished visual artist growing a large social media following. His unique geometric style is influenced by artists such as Carlos Cruz-Diez, Josef Albers, and the Constructivist Movement. He believes that his artistic pursuits enrich his architectural skills, led by his faith, pursuing truth, goodness, and beauty.
He is married to Estefania Stocker and is dedicated to serving God, his family, community, and country with the utmost devotion.
