Founding Design Principal / Studio Head
David Stocker, AIA is a founding Principal at SHM Architects in Dallas, Texas. Prior to forming SHM Architects, David was a principal of Turner Boaz Stocker and a Design Associate at HKS Architects. His 25 years of experience include high-end residential, commercial, hotel, and office building and master planning projects. Besides Texas, David has worked on projects in Florida, New York, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.
David’s design approach is creative and down-to-earth with the intent of making the client comfortable. He enjoys interacting and collaborating with contractors, the building trades, and individual craftsmen on his projects, learning what they can do, walking them through what he is looking for, and working side by side the craftsman as needed. This is all part of putting everyone on a project on the same design direction.
David has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas. He and his wife, Jennifer, have four children, which, he admits, gives him a very in-depth understanding of residential spaces. He is active in his church and community and enjoys hunting and fishing.
David is a registered architect in the State of Texas and is a member of the Texas Society of Architects, NCARB, and the American Institute of Architects.
