Though she was raised in Dallas, Hila has only lived here for half her life. After high school, she decided to move to Israel to explore her birthplace and cultural roots, and ended up staying for ten years. She spent a few years studying to be a teacher, but eventually realized that was not where her passion lay. After some soul searching, she discovered her love of architecture, which she studied in Jerusalem until she returned to Dallas in 2019. Hila will be graduating with her Master's of Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2023.
Living in Israel and being exposed to its rich architectural history gave Hila a deep appreciation and respect for architecture's importance in establishing a sense of place. She believes architecture should reflect its context and its people. Residential architecture is unique in its ability to directly reflect the owners' personalities and perspectives, and Hila enjoys having the opportunity to listen to and engage with clients to make that happen.
In her free time, you can find Hila spending time outdoors, dabbling in (sometimes mediocre) crocheting, trying out new vegan recipes, and working on jigsaw puzzles. She lives in Oak Cliff with her wife and their many plants.
