Matt is a Native Texan born and raised in Plano. In 2006 he migrated to the high plains of West Texas to attend Texas Tech University and after 6 years in Lubbock, Matt graduated with a Dual Masters Degree in Architecture and Business Administration. While at Texas Tech, Matt played on the lacrosse team, served on the US Green Building Council, and briefly studied abroad in Montreal, Canada.
Matt grew up getting lost in his Legos and other buildable toys, often abandoning the instructions and creatively building whatever came to mind. Along with his frequent drawing and sketching, his hobbies pushed him toward a career in Architecture. As a registered Architect in the state of Texas, Matt worked on Retail, Multi-Family, and Educational projects before joining SHM and hopes to leverage his past experiences to support his clients.
In his free time, Matt enjoys working out and staying active. He likes to play and watch all sports and if a Dallas team is playing, you will find it on his TV! That being said, lacrosse is his favorite and Matt considers himself a complete “lacrosse junkie.” After playing in high school, all 4 years at Texas Tech, and coaching locally for a few years, he now plays on a local men’s league.
Matt lives in Flower Mound with his wife, Katie, his daughter, Mia, and their golden-retriever mix, Hank. Having grown up in the city, Matt has taken a recent interest in the outdoors and enjoys getting away to find new adventures.
