mckensie Janise
Katy McKensie Janise was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana.
She attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for her bachelor’s in architectural studies (May 2020) and then continued to grad school for her master’s of architecture (Dec 2021). During her time at UL, she was involved as the President of AIAS and as the VP-membership at the Kappa Delta chapter at UL.
McKensie moved to Dallas in December of 2021 and began working in aviation architecture for almost 3 years before coming to SHM! Most of her work there was working on regional airports which allowed her to interact more with clients and the design team.
She has wanted to go into residential architecture for as long as she can remember! McKensie is obsessed with the idea of creating a home in an artistic way that captures the personality and characteristics of the person to who the space belongs.
You can catch McKensie on the weekends shopping at North Park, playing pickleball with her husband haha, playing with her Goldendoodle "Dolly," or watching Saturday Night Live or any other show. In another life, she thinks she was a New Yorker because SHE LOVES IT there and all the Broadway shows and fashion!
