The growing neighborhood congregation of Providence Presbyterian Church approached SHM to bring a new identity to life for their recently purchased existing church building. While it possessed “good bones,” the old building was in need of major updates both inside and out.

SHM developed a scheme that extensively remodeled the existing building, bringing new life and character to the busy corner of Royal Lane and Midway in north Dallas.

Adding a steeple element, steep-pitched roof forms, and classic red brick details, the resulting architecture reflects the congregation it serves – simultaneously rooted in tradition, and serving the neighborhood and church of today.
