Trent Oatman was born and raised in Fort Worth and has wanted to be an architect since elementary school. His dad worked in commercial real estate and had a bunch of blueprints in his office (leading young Trent to think his dad was actually an architect). Growing up, travelling was very important; as a result, Trent has been to approximately 65 states and countries.
Trent graduated from Texas Tech University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture.
Trent's love for architecture and free internships led him to a summer in New York City working for Peter Eisenman in 2009. He returned to Texas after that summer and started applying to grad schools. He moved back to New York the following year to attend Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation (GSAPP). Trent graduated from GSAPP in 2013, and has worked in residential architecture ever since.
After several years in The Big Apple, having had enough of the city, Trent moved back to Texas where his family’s ancestors have lived since the 1830’s.
Trent enjoys eating pizza and drinking wine with his wife Madison.
