Will says that he was born and raised in Dallas, but actually he’s from Plano, TX. He studied architecture at his family’s alma mater, the University of Arkansas, and graduated in 2015.
Will has worked in variety of locales and scales, from historic preservation in Savannah, GA, to historic preservation in New Orleans, LA, with a small stint of historic preservation in Beaumont, TX. Throughout all of that preserving, Will also maintained a small residential design hobby-practice and was able to design a handful of homes in Arkansas. In 2019 he finally realized, which honestly took too long, that residential design and architecture was his passion and he was thrilled to join SHM Architects to pursue it full time. At SHM he has found kinship with others who are fascinated in the ways design can enhance daily life, joy in the wonderful idiosyncrasies that residential design provides, and loves getting to have direct multi-year relationships with families along the way.
In 2021, family drew Will back to Fayetteville, AR where he currently lives with his wife, Haley, and their three children. Haley and Will enjoy going to the farmers market, knowing baristas by name, walks in the creek, estate sales and taking art classes. Their kids enjoy some of that stuff, but mostly they like playgrounds and lunch.
