Rachel grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts, where she developed her passion for basketball and architecture. Seeing her father and uncle renovate homes at a young age, sparked her interest in residential architecture.
After graduating high school, she decided to leave the Boston area and pursue both her passions at college in Washington, D.C. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a minor in Psychology from the Catholic University of America. After working in a residential architecture firm for a few years in the Washington, D.C. area, she decided to continue her education at Virginia Tech and graduated with a Master of Architecture in 2022. While at Virginia Tech, she received her WELL AP certification, served as the AIAS Vice President, and won the VT Visualization Award and Crystal Thesis Award. Go Hokies!
In August of 2022, Rachel moved to Dallas, Texas to start a new chapter and was so grateful to join SHM Architects. She appreciates the personal connection and collaboration with the client and home. She loves designing a home that is uniquely theirs and that reflects their personalities. In her free time, she loves traveling, trying new foods, and hanging out with her new puppy, Oliver.
